Working with horses. I have a degree in equine and business management and love riding and training. I have a horse that I ride in my spare time and his name is Hippo.
What was your first job?
I was a waitress, catering for weddings and events, and it got me used to hard work, long hours and managing money.
What inspires you?
Someone that tries. It doesn’t matter if you “fail” as long as you gave it a go. That’s inspiring to me.
What’s the worst job you’ve done?
Being a bartender whilst at university was tough as it involved late nights, I smelt like beer constantly, I don’t really drink, and am coeliac and barley intolerant (so do not drink beer at all).
What’s your favourite part of the job?
It is not a job to me. This is just part of my life journey and I am really enjoying having the flexibility to express ideas and make decisions.
And your least favourite?
The loneliness of starting a new brand can be difficult. I’m lucky to be co-founder with my fiancée Jeff so have someone to chat with/bounce ideas off.
How about the food industry?
The food industry is ripe with innovation at the moment, which is amazing to see. Consumers are seeking alternatives to the norm and this means start-ups have a greater
chance to succeed.
Tea or coffee?
Both! I have an MCT & Collagen Coffee every morning and then I switch to decaf tea in the afternoons.
What would be your last supper?
Cauliflower risotto with king prawns, truffle shavings and a drizzle of avocado oil.
What’s your motto?
JFDI – Just f-ing do it.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Something in Thailand – a cricket-type bug. I’m still unsure what it really was.
What’s your favourite book?
The Horse Whisperer by Nicholas Evans.
Sweet or savoury?
Savoury, although I am partial to a square of 100% dark orange oil chocolate.
